Kidney Stones- Kidney stones are hard masses of crystals that separate from the urinary tract. The most common type of stone contains calcium in combination with either oxalate or phosphate. It is still unclear what causes kidney stones but a presence of kidney stones in a family's history is one theory. Urinary tract infections, kidney disorders such as cystic kidney diseases, and certain metabolic disorders such as hyperparathyroidism are also linked to stone formation. Also, more than 70 percent of people with a rare hereditary disease called renal tubular acidosis develop kidney stones. Some symptoms of kidney stones are, pain in the belly, or back, abnormal urine color, blood in the urine, fever, and vomiting. Some treatments are pain medicine, and drinking more fluids.
Urinary Tract Infection- A UTI is when bacteria enters the urinary tract through the urethra, goes to the bladder and multiplies. This bacteria can also cause a kidney infection if the bacteria travels to the kidneys. Some symptoms are pain during urination, frequent urination, and cloudy bad smelling urine. Some treatments for UTIs are antibiotics, pain releiving medication and drinking plenty of water.
